The caregiver was fine. No real issues there. But supervision felt a bit lacking. I had to call more than once for updates. Follow-up was slow too. Not terrible, but not great.

We used garde-malade for my dad after his surgery, and overall it was a good experience. The caregiver was really kind and made him feel comfortable, like he wasn’t being rushed or treated awkwardly. She helped with the little things, just small things around the house, and also took time to chat with him, which he really liked. I’m giving 4 stars only because the scheduling took a little longer than I expected. But once everything was set up, it went well.

I used garde-malade.ca to get some help with my dad, the caregiver was nice when they showed up. No complaints there. But the scheduling was an issue more than once. One day they were almost 40 minutes late, and another time there was a last-minute change with barely any notice. For this kind of service, come on now, being on time is important. I was stressed waiting around and had to rearrange my own day because of it. It wasn’t a terrible experience, but I don’t think I’d book again.

Am I the only one who got a weird feeling about this? I can’t fully explain it, but the trust just felt off to me, and I didn’t feel as safe or comfortable as I expected.

"They treated my dad with real care"
I’ll be honest, I don’t have a ton of patience when it comes to dealing with care services, but they made everything so much easier. They treated my dad like an actual person, not just another task to get through. Everyone was kind, easy to talk to, and really patient with both of us. I’m genuinely grateful.

We had the same caregiver most days, and that really helped my dad feel more comfortable and settled. It was also easier for us because she got to know his routine and what he needed. There was one schedule change, but overall it worked out well

"I was feeling stressed when…"
I was feeling stressed when we started looking for care for my dad, so it meant a lot that the caregiver was so kind and respectful with him. She always spoke to him directly and really made an effort to protect his dignity, which our family appreciated. The only downside was the scheduling. There were a couple of late arrivals, and we had to call more than once to follow up. Overall, the service was okay, but I do wish the communication had been a bit smoother.

I needed emergency help, and they responded really fast, which I appreciated a lot. Everything was handled quickly, and calmly, and it made a stressful situation feel a little easier.

The paperwork took a bit longer than I expected, but it did get handled in the end. I wasn’t totally sure what was going on the whole time, but it seemed like things were moving along and it all worked out

"Helpful Even With a Small Schedule Mix-Up"
There was a little mix-up with the schedule at first, and I was kind of worried, because I needed help for my mom that day. I called them, and thankfully, someone actually answered right away, looked into it, and found another caregiver quickly. She did arrive a bit later than planned, but she was really kind, and everything worked out. The problem got handled without too much stress, so overall, I’m happy with them.

I tried to book a garde malade through the site, but it was more confusing than I expected. It took way longer than it should have, and I had to redo a few steps because things weren’t very clear. The whole process just didn’t feel smooth. What bothered me even more is that there was no follow-up afterward, so I was left wondering if everything went through properly.

"Fair price, just a bit of work to set up"
We used garde-malade.ca for my dad after his surgery, and overall it was a good experience. The price was reasonable, the caregiver showed up on time, was kind, and handled what we needed. The only thing is I found it took a bit more effort than I wanted to get everything organized, especially while already dealing with my dad’s recovery. But there were no surprise costs, and it did feel worth it in the end. I’d use them again.

"Great Care and a Smooth Experience Overall"
The caregiver showed up on time and was really professional with my mom. She seemed to know exactly what she was doing and was very patient, which we really appreciated. Scheduling took a little longer than I expected, but overall it was a smooth experience and we were happy with the care.

"Really helpful after my mom’s surgery"
We used garde-malade.ca after my mom had surgery and it was a good experience. The caregiver was kind gentle on time and really paid attention to what my mom needed. It took a lot of stress off our family. I’d definitely use them again.

"Good service, but the language fit could be better"
Overall, the service was okay. I had asked for someone who spoke English well, and while they were definitely nice, it was still a bit tough to explain certain things. From their tone, I got the feeling they really were trying to help and didn’t mean to make anything difficult. I just wish the language match had been a little better so the whole process felt smoother.

The caregiver was really kind and helpful, which I appreciated. But the scheduling got changed twice, and when I tried to get answers, nobody called me back quickly. After that, I started feeling unsure about relying on them, even though the actual care was good.
